About Writer

Writer is built for the company rather than the individual writer. It grounds generation in your own material through a Knowledge Graph, applies house voice through personality profiles and style guides, and increasingly sells agents: its plans page (read 16 October 2026) describes 'WRITER Agent — one interface for chat and automation' on Starter and an Agent Library of 100+ prebuilt agents on Enterprise. There are two plans and no published prices. Starter is for up to five users on monthly or annual per-seat plans with fixed credit limits, with a 14-day free trial that needs no card, one team personality profile, limited access to AI Studio, WRITER's default models and 50 GB in a single Knowledge Graph. Enterprise adds unlimited users and free collaborators, departmental brand and voice profiles, full AI Studio, full Knowledge Graph capabilities with unrestricted connectors, and the option to work with your preferred large language models. Because the per-seat price is not on the page, this directory no longer shows the $18-a-month figure it used to list; ask for the Starter quote during the trial. The limits: the value depends on the time you invest in the Knowledge Graph and voice profiles; Starter's five-user cap pushes any real team into an Enterprise conversation; and it is far more than a solo writer needs. Copy.ai on this site is the go-to-market alternative with a published self-serve price, while Wordtune and Sudowrite serve individual writers. Verdict: a strong fit for marketing and content teams in regulated or brand-sensitive companies with the resources to set it up; overkill for small teams.

Best For

Marketing, content and communications teams in large or regulated companies that need output grounded in approved material and a consistent voice. Not for freelancers or small teams, or for anyone who wants a published price before a sales conversation.

How Writer compares in Writing

The 6 writing agents we track, listed alphabetically. 1 of the 6 publish a free tier. Prices are the vendor’s own published starting figure and change without notice — check the vendor’s pricing page before committing.

The bar under a price compares that plan with the dearest monthly plan in this table (3 of the 6 rows are flat monthly prices). Custom, per-seat, per-usage and annual prices are not on the same scale, so they carry no bar — a missing bar does not mean cheaper.
