About Synthesia
Synthesia solves a specific problem: a training or explainer video with a person on screen, without filming anyone. You write or paste a script, choose an AI avatar and a voice, and it renders a presenter delivering it, with dubbing into other languages. The pricing page (read 16 October 2026) now meters everything in credits. Basic is free with 500 credits a month — about 10 minutes of video creation or dubbing — nine avatars and a Synthesia watermark. Starter is $29 a month billed monthly or $18 billed yearly for 1,250 credits a month, up to roughly 12 more minutes, 125+ avatars, one editor and three guests. Pro is $89 monthly or $64 yearly for 6,000 credits, up to about 60 more minutes, 180+ avatars and five personal avatars. Enterprise is custom, with unlimited video minutes, SSO and SCORM export for learning-management systems. Every plan lists 140+ languages and voices. The limits: the minute figures are approximate conversions of credits, so long scripts cost more than the headline suggests; SCORM export, which most corporate training teams need, appears only on Enterprise; and avatars still read as synthetic to many viewers, which matters more in customer-facing marketing than in internal training. The page is also inconsistent about Starter's yearly credit total, so check it at checkout. HeyGen on this site is the closest rival for avatar video and translation, and Descript is for editing footage you filmed yourself. Verdict: the default here for HR, onboarding and internal-communications teams producing a steady flow of presenter videos — find out whether you need SCORM before you choose a plan.
Best For
HR, learning-and-development, onboarding and internal-communications teams that need presenter videos updated often and in several languages. Not for editing filmed footage, for cinematic generated video, or for teams that need SCORM export on a self-serve budget.

The 9 image & video agents we track, listed alphabetically. 8 of the 9 publish a free tier. Prices are the vendor’s own published starting figure and change without notice — check the vendor’s pricing page before committing.
The bar under a price compares that plan with the dearest monthly plan in this table (5 of the 9 rows are flat monthly prices). Custom, per-seat, per-usage and annual prices are not on the same scale, so they carry no bar — a missing bar does not mean cheaper.
