About HeyGen
Create professional videos with AI avatars and voice cloning. Translate videos into 40+ languages with lip-sync. No camera or studio needed.
HeyGen makes video without a camera or a studio. You write or paste a script, choose a digital avatar — a stock presenter or one created from your own likeness — and HeyGen generates a video of that avatar speaking it. Voice cloning lets the avatar use your own voice, and its translation feature re-voices a video into 40+ languages with lip-sync.
The strongest use is content that has to be repeated or updated: training modules, product explainers, onboarding videos and marketing variations. Changing a line of script and regenerating is far cheaper than reshooting, and translation turns one video into versions for several markets. That makes it a fit for marketing teams, trainers and content creators.
Two cautions. Avatar video still reads differently from a person filmed on camera, so test it with your actual audience before replacing presenter-led content entirely. And cloning a voice or likeness needs the consent of the person whose voice or face it is — for anyone other than yourself, get that in writing, and label synthetic video where your audience would expect to know.
HeyGen is listed here as freemium, with paid plans from $29 a month; check its own pricing page for current plans, video-minute limits and which features need a higher tier. Synthesia is the closest alternative on this site for avatar presenters, and ElevenLabs if you need only the voice.

The 9 image & video agents we track, listed alphabetically. 8 of the 9 publish a free tier. Prices are the vendor’s own published starting figure and change without notice — check the vendor’s pricing page before committing.
The bar under a price compares that plan with the dearest monthly plan in this table (5 of the 9 rows are flat monthly prices). Custom, per-seat, per-usage and annual prices are not on the same scale, so they carry no bar — a missing bar does not mean cheaper.
