About Gemini Deep Research
Gemini Deep Research is Google's research agent inside the Gemini app. You give it a question; it turns it into a multi-point research plan, searches and browses the web on its own — Google's overview page says up to hundreds of websites — shows its reasoning as it works, and returns a long, structured report. The same page (read 16 October 2026) says you can upload your own files to include in the research, that reports are also available as audio overviews, and that it works on computer and mobile in 150 countries and more than 45 languages, including for Google Workspace users. On Google's subscriptions page Deep Research appears among the features of the free Gemini plan, with a note that usage limits may apply; the paid Google AI plans raise the Gemini usage limits — Pro to four times the free limit and Ultra higher still. That page shows prices in your local currency, so check the figure for your country. The limits: a long report is only as good as the sources it found, so open the citations before you rely on a figure; it is slower than a quick search by design; and a vague question produces a broad, shallow report, so make the question specific. Perplexity on this site is faster for quick cited answers, Elicit is the specialist for academic papers, and Humata answers from documents you already hold. Verdict: the best tool here for a broad first pass on a market, competitor or topic — start on the free plan and pay only if you hit the limits.
Best For
Analysts, founders, students and marketers who need a broad, sourced overview of an unfamiliar topic quickly. Not for quick single-fact lookups, for academic literature reviews, or for anyone who will use its figures without checking the sources.

The 6 research agents we track, listed alphabetically. All of them publish a free tier. Prices are the vendor’s own published starting figure and change without notice — check the vendor’s pricing page before committing.
The bar under a price compares that plan with the dearest monthly plan in this table (4 of the 6 rows are flat monthly prices). Custom, per-seat, per-usage and annual prices are not on the same scale, so they carry no bar — a missing bar does not mean cheaper.
